Goth-Ya the clown is coming for you
NorthCarolinaHauntedHouses.com recently sat down with Jonathan Lewkowicz of Phobia Haunted Trail, to discuss what's new at Phobia Haunted Trail for the 2023 Halloween Season!
What's new at Phobia Haunted Trail for 2023? Do you have any new rides, attractions, or special features that Haunt Seekers should know about?
Both Trails are new and updated. The Phobia Institute has been updated and you will start off in a Castle as you weave your way through different Phobias. Many new additions to peake year fear.
The CarnEvil trail trail has been expanded and will include a lot more scares and clowns. We have doubled the amount of clowns this year, you wanted the clowns, you got them. We have so many you might have to take some home with you.
What are you most excited about for the 2023 Halloween Season?
We have added so much to the trail this year that Im excited for our regular fans to see all of the changes and updates. For the 1st time in a few years we will be at the same location 2 years in a row. I can't wait to scare everyone.
What differentiates Phobia Haunted Trail from other local haunts in North Carolina?
We use the woods for a lot of the creepy effect. We dont post a lot of video to keep the trail more of a secret. Unlike other trails, we send small groups in so every person gets a good scare. We have some haunters who have been in the business over 15 years scaring at many different locations, we get bigger and better every year and we change it up every year almost 100%. We build most of our props and use very few animatronics, we use Live Actors to do the scaring.
How long has Phobia Haunted Trail been in business? Can you tell us a bit more about Phobia Haunted Trail's history?
We have been in business since 2016 officially, but I have been building a small attraction going back to 2002. I love the industry and the business. When I moved to the area in 2015 there were no other attractions, so in 2016 I built my own and we have grown from there.
What's your favorite experience since opening Phobia Haunted Trail?
Seeing the repeat customers year after year.
How long is a typical haunt experience at Phobia Haunted Trail from start to finish?
We have expanded the trails this year to make sure that combined on the 2 trails you are in the attraction for 30 minutes.
On a scale from 1 to 10, how scary would you say Phobia Haunted Trail is? Why?
10. We keep our trail dimly lit and you are in a thickly wooded area.
Does Phobia Haunted Trail's property have any real haunted history? Do you have a spooky encounter you'd like to share?
There is the story of the headless man called the Maco Light on the train tracks.
What inspired you to open up a haunted attraction? What's your favorite part of the business?
My favorite part is seeing the customers enjoy the experience and thank us after.
How has new technology (i.e. animatronics, special props, etc) helped you to enhance Phobia Haunted Trail?
We use very little animatronics, I prefer Live Actors
Can Phobia Haunted Trail accommodate large groups? How many people can experience Phobia Haunted Trail together as a group?
We like to keep our groups small to 10 or less at a time for a better experience.
Does Phobia Haunted Trail offer any special deals, discounts, or coupons?
