September 1st of the year 1808, a group of settlers ventured into the town of Rockwell. Some were spotted at the town grocery picking up supplies to build with. A strange fellow was reported in the local bar with an odd accent, talking about magical creatures from a far land. While another, was telling the locals of his delicious stew recipes. This was rather strange, but nothing unusual happened until the 7th night when they packed up at mid-dawn and disappeared into the woods. Reports started coming in of demented noises, that echoed throughout the countryside. One by one, the townsmen started to go missing.
The towns started to send in search parties but after the fifth day no one had returned; the searches were stopped. Hearing about this phenomenon, penitentiaries as far as West Virginia started sending their worst criminals to the forest to relocate to make room in the prisons. The wardens gave the prisoners an ultimatum to move and clear out the lands for homes. If they achieve this goal, they become free men. Til this day, no one has seen or heard of these men.
As curiosity killed the cat, most people have a desire to know the unknown that overwhelm them. To this day intrigued souls venture out into the woods looking for answers. Many enter but few return with their lives or sanity in tact.

Review This HauntEmail Verified Scary awesome!
One of the few “original idea” haunts out there. I’ve been to quite a few haunts and I’ve never seen anything like these guys and girls! They have some intense scenes that can make you lose your bodily functions. Each scene engages you and that’s where they scare you! Definitely my favorite in the state!

This place is awesome!
Went last Saturday in the rain and was astonished with the detail and scare factors! 98 percent of the visit was in houses in which was a pleasant surprise. We have been to 6 of the recommended large haunts this year and had low expectations when we pulled in. As we entered we were caught off guard and pleased (don’t won’t to spoil it) If you have the opportunity give them a try....... you won’t be disappointed!

Email Verified Scariest Haunt Around!
Every year my family & I visit several of the haunted attractions in this area. This year after going to a few of our favorites we decided to try Forbidden Forest for the 1st time. The scenes were awesome with a lot of scary detail and the characters were terrifyingly amazing! My 14 year old wet her pants & was almost crying at the end - definitely our new favorite and we can't wait to go back next year!! Well worth it and supports a great cause!

Beyond Horrifyingly Fun!
This was the best haunt I've ever been to-- ever! The sets and scenes are extremely well done. The cast is believable, the attractions are spooky-crazy, and the three-hour-wait worthwhile. This was almost too scary for me, an adult. I do not recommend this for anyone under 15. Some of the actors ignored my request to leave my teenage daughter alone because it was too much for her. That was a problem, and I reported them. Other than that, this haunt went beyond my expectations.

Most innovative trail in North Carolina
Unique scares unlike anything else you will find in the state. Only open six nights a year with the proceeds going to charity this place is an amazing diamond in the rough. Don't miss it!
